Ingredients Quantity
To create this homemade pest-repellent mix, you will need:
- 2 tablespoons of mint-flavored toothpaste
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- A few drops of water (just enough to make a thick paste)
Optional Additions
- Peppermint oil: Boosts the smell to enhance repelling power
- Borax: For more severe infestations, a small amount can increase effectiveness (Use with caution, especially around kids and pets)
- Cornmeal: Helps attract ants and roaches before the paste repels or eliminates them
Tips for Success
- Use mint toothpaste only – it’s the strong scent that drives pests away
- Apply the paste in hidden corners, near drains, baseboards, and behind appliances
- Reapply every 2–3 days or after cleaning those areas
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- For outdoor use, place under flowerpots or along window sills
