A lady gave my Mother this recipe in 1953 and it has been a family favorite ever since.


How To Make Classic 7UP Pound Cake:

  1. Step 1: Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  2. Step 2: Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Step 3: Add Eggs and Extracts: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla and almond (or lemon) extract.
  4. Step 4: Incorporate Flour and Soda: Gradually add the flour alternating with the 7UP (or other lemon-lime soda), beginning and ending with the flour. Mix only until the batter is just combined.
  5. Step 5: Pour and Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  6. Step 6: Cool and Serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert it onto a wire rack to cool completely. Serve as is or with whipped cream and berries.
